S7 - The Backdoor

This collection was created by embracing the unknown, the shadow, the yin... It is often in these places where the strongest forms of energy can be found.

Behind the backdoor is a story divided into three chapters (The past, the present, and the future). There will be 10 frames (pieces) in each chapter. Each frame will tell a piece of the story (in the metadata). To have the entire story one must obtain every frame.

Chapter 01 - The Past

I first made an illustration/collage on A4 paper using paint, pens, oil pastels, tape, and sometimes pages from a book or parts of my own photographs to create the work in its initial form (which you can view in the Scrapbook collection). Later on, these 10 A4 artworks were digitized using a Canon EOS 90d and a 24mm prime lens. Afterward, post-production was done using Adobe Photoshop 2023 Beta (with all of its compositing features including generative fill) and Adobe After Effects (for animation), on a 5000*5000px digital canvas. In order to make gifs that were lower than 15mb for fast loading times and easy sharing on social media, the final resolution was downscaled to 900*900px. Large-scale prints (50*50cm) can still be made from the original version.

Chapter 02 - The Present

The present leads to the future, and to get there I've designed 10 portals. These portals were made by creating photographic and video assets, which I later animated to design the portals. The assets were retouched in Photoshop and animated in After Effects.
