DigiHell Corps! (Bootlegs)
When the DHC2 policy locked, several pieces that were mostly destined for rewards could no longer be minted. Instead of letting them go to waste, I recycled them into bootlegs, unique remixes of the originals. These special editions are given as rewards to DHC2 holders and Skulliance stakers, some are sold so collectors can climb up the monthly leaderboard, making them an exclusive part of the collection’s evolution.
Growing up in Argentina in the 90s, I spent countless hours playing with these action figures called The Corps, basically the bootleg version of GiJoes. I had a few real GiJoes and some Street Fighter ones too, but to me, they were all just “Corps.”
The Corps were definitely lower quality than GiJoes; the plastic was shinier, more fragile, and the proportions were a bit off (bigger heads, wider torsos, skinny arms). But to my young mind, they were siiiiick!
They were affordable, so I had a ton of them, and when they broke, I’d mix and match parts to create entirely new characters. It was like my own little toy lab.
These were my companions in epic adventures. I’d build fortresses out of cardboard, books, and whatever else I could find, and create stories that would keep me playing for hours.
These pups were bootlegs, but had a an authentic impact on my life.
