They might all appeared to be different, yes. Yet the portraits are the representation of the same photograph at different times. The painting of sitter becomes a product, but unlike what Warhol did to the portrait of Marilyn, this this images are different every time and they are painterly. In this sense what becomes a product of mass consumption is not the sitter himself, but the painting. Today, well into the 21th century painting is not longer a mystify object, on the contrary it is mundane and nothing extraordinary.
