This illustration depicts Barong, the panther-hound god of Good and Kindness, flanked by two incarnations of the witch-widow and Demon Queen Rangda, in the tropical foliage of Bali.

Barong stands stalwart protecting all corners of Bali in various beast-like incarnations, also taking the form of elephant, boar, ox, and other animals, depending on the region. Rangda is the Mistress of all leyaks, fearsome cannibal-witches who stalk the night, flying with only their entrails attached to their heads. Locked in an eternal struggle between Good and Evil, they are frequently portrayed in the most famous mask dances of Bali.

I’ve always loved to draw since I was a child. I was lucky: after graduating high school, I had the chance to study Art at university, and I’ve been drawing since then. I don’t really have a favourite genre or subject, I draw inspiration from everything happening around me, or when an idea suddenly comes to me and I feel like drawing. So my big inspirations are things like walking down the street, or listening to a song, watching a movie, etc. 

What I like most about composing art is that I feel like my mind can fly freely, and I can draw what I like.
